The Daoist body is a scheme that serves as the core for building the entire developmental system in Daoist alchemy. We cannot develop the existing body, since it is already a programmed and finished product, but we can develop a body that we can replace in us. This is the alchemical or Daoist body.

The ‘Postulate of the Red Talisman’ unites the tasks and capabilities of our body and energy. This conceptual framework is embedded in the knowledge of Daoist medicine and alchemy, and it explainsthe laws that can help us can change our prenatal nature and comprehend the principles of transformation.

Original nature

Original or primordial nature is an important concept in alchemy. It is based on the personal code formula and is a given, a fact. The first thing that comes into contact with knowledge is the primordial nature, which predetermines our properties and qualities. The original nature also represents our unconditional experience, and all conditional experience, or the postnatal, is superimposed on it. Depending on when we start to practice, we should keep in mind that if we do not work every day on maintaining this original nature, it gradually deteriorates. And as we cannot get rid of this original nature, we need to use our knowledge so as to keep in tune with it. This will slow down its deterioration and prevent us from overfilling.
The three types of energy

There are three types of energy in Daoist alchemy: qi, jing and shen. They serve as the measure of effort, as a formula that contains the scheme of nine-fold distillation of energy. This helps combine certain types of tension and leads to the tactile perception of energy.

The unified centre, or focusing centre, is a place that creates a pulsation, a single impulse, and alchemical work is impossible without it.

The Unified Centre governs through Dao, it preserves the One and does not allow energy to be wasted.

The knowledge of the small cosmic orbit is surprisingly paradoxical and impressively inaccessible, as it presents the conditions of impossibility. The small cosmic orbit can help us comprehend the meaning of the alchemical act.
The Daoist body: the ZhongliQuan doctrine

The characteristic feature of this doctrine is that it does not perceive the head as a part of the human body, but, on the contrary, it perceives the body as part of the head complex.
