Celestial Outreach Ritual

Heaven creates divine things; the holy sage takes them as a model. Heaven and Earth change and are transformed; the wise man imitates them. There are images hanging in the heavens that show good luck and misfortune; the holy sage reproduces them. The Yellow River gave birth to the map, and the Luo River gave birth to letters; the sages took them as models.

The Celestial Outreach ritual is a type of ritual associated with the laws guiding the rotation of the trigrams. It is linked to the twenty-eight constellations in the sky, each drawing a circle in the heavens, which turns each constellation into a spiritualized drawing accumulating energy.

The idea that each constellation has its own rotation pattern and its own rhythm is reflected in the metaphysical knowledge of the bagua system and its teaching about the twisting of the energy axis (nengzhou) that creates energy knots (nengjie) which allow you to produce or free yourself from the celestial essence (shijie benyuan), which can then be refined through internal alchemy.

The development of the Bagua-zhang system brought about significant changes in alchemical work. Static alchemical work was extensively enriched through dynamic alchemical techniques.

This makes the Celestial Outreach ritual a fundamental element of the bagua-zhang system, which was formed over a very long period stretching between the beginning of the millennium and the sixteenth century. The ritual reflects the cosmogonic system of the macrocosm and is associated in alchemy with the sublimation elixir linked to the scheme of the twenty-eight constellations.
