On Mother’s night that illuminates everything that is new

Something new is born that we must weave

To fill the belly of the coming winter.

On December 19, we will experience the most powerful Mother’s night in the last 250 years. Mother’s night is a special day in the Celtic and German-Scandinavian (runic) traditions, the harbinger of the winter solstice, known as the Yuletide. The night between the 19th and 20th of December is the night when the new is born, a night with a special meaning, associated with deep renewal and the process of restructuring space.

Mother’s night is the night before the winter solstice, when the sun is farthest from its zenith, in its uterine position “underground” (Northern Hemisphere). This day has a magical impulse, heralding the arrival of a new era. Our tuning on this night will determine how we inscribe ourselves into the overall irrational scheme of our planet’s time flow.

This is the time to tune ourselves to the new stage of our life cycle. The Mother’s night ritual is the ritual of Freya – a ritual providing luminosity, and cleansing space of all darkness and filth.

• Freya’s ritual

Freya’s Abode ritual (Og det er Frejas sal, Danish) is associated with the great Freya – the goddess of love and war in German and Scandinavian mythology. It is a ritual of the world tree Yggdrasil, which represents the macrocosmic scheme in the Germanic and Scandinavian traditions.

The ritual expresses the mathematical language of the celestial city of Asgard, the language of the space located at the top of the world tree, a place of special rhythm, where one can feel the breath of the goddess Freya. This is a ritual of the nine worlds, which can help us to see and know these worlds, and not only imagine certain events and schemes, which actually limits us to the representations of the lower world.
