Yoga
In today’s world, yoga is primarily a brand used by various fields for human development. “Yoga” is an all-encompassing concept of the path of human development directed from the outer to the inner as well as from the inner to the outer.
Today, the quality of this knowledge, as well as the perception of yoga, depends on who and how presents it and on the name of the direction or on metaphysical history. No matter what definition we choose for the term “yoga”, we should always keep in mind that it is a voluminous and versatile concept based on the harmonious union of physical, energetic, and mental effort. And if so, then any set of spiritual, energetic, and physical practices is essentially yoga.
On the one hand, this moves us away from understanding yoga as it existed, say, two thousand years ago, on the other hand, it creates an additional resource for a unified understanding of the path of development. This is why we have such a diverse range of understandings of yoga today, which are often not even related to the original Indian tradition.
