The Path of Spiritual Purity. The African Oracle
The African Oracle is a concept that goes beyond linear perception in general and the very understanding of the oracle in particular. It is first and foremost a path of spiritual purity.
The African oracle is about the interaction with the stream and forming a rational perception of irrationality, which is associated with Babalawo-Oxumarê. It is a combined concept of consciousness as a special form of existence (orisha) and the ability to understand the laws of Orunmila (moving consciousness). It requires a certain type of attunement, a type of consciousness that correlates with oracular consciousness, but is not in a physical shell. This kind of consciousness lives in space (Irunmole) and is involved in comprehending mystery.
Space consists of forms of consciousness (orisha) that can be controlled by the oracle. Babalawo-Oxumarê is also an oracle capable of representing all 12 consciousnesses of Irunmole (macro cosmos). Each oracle in the African tradition implements at least three consciousnesses simultaneously – the consciousness of one of the space fields (Eshu), the aimed consciousness (Oshosi), and the purifying consciousness (Ogun).
The African oracle is a way of connecting to the stream, an initiation in which the language of the sacred symbols of the odu, the language of the consciousness contained in the vessels of the olodu (the capsules of Olodumare, or higher consciousness), is examined. These are the vessels of all 12 consciousnesses of the macro cosmos, which are contacted through the consciousness of Orunmila, capable of moving through space and not being static. This consciousness is a kind of quantum structure, which is reflected in the frontal parts of the brain of every human.
The ability to connect with this consciousness is crucial to understanding the African oracle as a path to spiritual purity, not merely as divination or even insight. It is a process of delving into the space of the spirit that develops a certain form of thinking (Orunmila thinking) that can mediate between the coarse and fine forms of thinking.
Those who have mastered the fine forms of thinking are generally considered to be Olodumare. They have knowledge of 16 olodu, 4 kinds of streams, and 12 kinds of cosmic ori (consciousnesses). In the cosmology of the Ifa system (world axis) consciousnesses are divided into those that have light (imo) and those that have no light (aimoye). It is important to understand the nature of the houses of light Imole because they are displayed in people’s consciousness and the functioning of the brain. It is the consciousnesses of light that reproduce the real power of Ashe, which is extremely important to the nature of the spirit. The development of consciousness from the position of the Ifa axis is the formation of a multifunctional understanding of nature in general (ifaiya).
Thus, the African oracle is a path for acquiring spiritual purity. It is part of the formation of history (Itan) and at the same time history itself. The African oracle (in the Yoruba language – Isese) is part of a culture that draws on the heavenly source of Ise and is connected with the consciousnesses of space that the orisha represent. From the perspective of the African oracle, insight is a form of thought through which one can actually interact with all existing consciousnesses, including the Earth itself.
The African oracle is the special path to achieving spiritual enlightenment and knowledge of one’s destiny, Orun-Rere. The spiritual state has to be worked on, it is important to cultivate it so that it connects with our “I” (iponri). The African oracle is a way of developing the power of consciousness, a type of its materialization and embodiment (ooni).
